It's like the film industry, only vastly more important and distracting. Things are moving forward but we're not in labour yet. Yesterday we were at 3.5-4 cm and they thought we might be on our way so we spent the day cooking and getting ready just in case. It was in many ways a profound way to spend time together, every moment thinking that we might soon meet our baby. I went to yoga and for a walk, although by then my hips were aching so much that I was walking like I'd had both my feet shot off or something. It was so beautiful out though, I just wanted to get out in the sunshine and the big blue sky. I picked a beautiful soft blossom from the magnolia tree out front, relishing its redolence and the beautiful way it seemed to be opening like a lotus flower - I thought it would be a good meditation focal point, those silky pink petals opening to the sun.
